electrical problem. check your battery, check grounds, check fuses. when did it start doing it? did anything get wet? how long are we talking before it shuts down?
im sure someone here will chime in with what all is involved with the "pull key" thing. Usually I hear it associated with the column lock garbage.. but fuel shut off is at 2mph. if youre not moving the car before it shuts off... then I dont know
It started a month ago. It did it once when I pulled it out to do the yard but ran the 2nd time I tried to start it. Then I drove the little one to school (2 miles tops) walked him to class and got back in and it took me about 7-8 times to get it to run and drive it home. Now it won't stay running.
There are slight variences between 01 and the 02-03's and then 04's electrical systems. It sounds like electrical all the way and with you dieing and restarting multiple times and finally getting it home I doubt the column lock is the issue. I was just in termoil myself with my 04', see my thread " complete meltdown - Z brothers help! " it may help point you in the right direction.

are you getting fuel pressure to the rail? i would start eliminating things that it isnt. if its getting fuel, spark and air... you have an electrical issue. being that sensors usually just fail (not work intermittently) I tend to err on the side of a ground (as they are very common problems). Get with member Bill Curlee on here... the man has probably forgotten more about the electrical system than most here know. Also a very helpful guy to talk to. I have no doubt he might have some suggestions or things to look for.
Thanks for the help. I will put the fuel pressure gauge on it tomorrow to see if it is fuel shutting off. My car does say service steering column. Would I have to tow it to gm and pay them to program it?
