Default Carbon Fibre Hood Problems?

I'm looking into getting a new hood for my car and want to see what my options are. I recall a few months ago a thread coming up about some people having issues with some carbon fibre hoods that are being sold on this forum. I can't seem to find the thread anymore, but I was wondering if people could share their experiences here with both vendors and their products. PM me if necessary.

Thanks!

I've had my MCM hood for several years and haven't experienced any problems. When I had it painted, the guys at the body shop told me it was the highest quality, best fitting aftermarket hood they had ever worked on.

I had a Motor City Mold hood on my '00 - absolutely loved it. Fit and finish were excellent, install was easy and I never had any problems with it in the 5 years I had it on the car. Not sure how some of the other brands are but the MCM hood was .

I don't have an aftermarket hood, but I have heard nothing but good things about MCM hoods over the many years I have been on this forum.

Mcm is good but way too expensive for what it is. VIS makes carbon fibernhoods for half and the fit ismstill perfect. Check em out.

Are MCM hoods even being sold? If so, where can I get one.

Does anyone have any horror stories? I seem to recall that is the direction the other thread was taking.

Unless I went to the wrong site, their last three C5 hoods are right in the ball park of what I paid for my MCM hood.

Paid around $1400 for mine several years ago. They do look like nice hoods.

Bingo

Altho, the creator of the hoods has many that fit perfect. So it could just be installation.

My MCM hood has one constant problem:
Folks want to keep talking to me about what a fine hood I have.
Bla-Bla-Bla...............
My shop had a similar opinon about the hood ---very easy install
and paint. It was pricey but you know the adage.
I don't know the new MCM hood but the old MCM was the best.

What are the issues (if any) with this hood? I am seriously considering this one.
