Default Clutch upgrade

hey chaps - need some help from you

I've had my C5 Z06 for 5 years.
I'm a former racer, so I do drive with "passion" and replaced the standard clutch with a Textralia OZ700 about 4 years ago (only done 10,000 miles, if that).

Car is pretty standard runs around 450bhp. The clutch has started to slip in 5 and 6th - so time for something new.

I still want something that's driveable on the road - I don't track the car, but I do drive very hard (when appropriate) on the road. And I may end up bolting on a supercharger next year. So thinking twin plate?

Really would appreciate any advice as I'm over in the UK and there's not a corvette aftermarket store on every corver
I know there's lots of options out there - so looking for something that's OK in traffic but will put up with some abuse !

McLeod Twin. Should hold up really well, stock-like pedal feel/effort.

I have personally owned and driven;
Monster 3.5 with light flywheel
Monster 3.0 with light flywheel
McLeod RST with stock flywheel

Monster has a noticable pedal/effort, McLeod not as much.

I also run a Tick Master Cylinder now also

Thanks - was looking at something like a RPS Street Twin Carbon - which is nearly double the price of the McLeod twin !

For only 450bhp, I'd look into one of the monster clutches. A twin disc might be overkill at that power level..........unless you have more mods planned down the road

Hi - I'm looking at supercharging next year. And I've killed the Textralia - so I think it's got to be a twin for me now.

Just want to make sure I'm fitting a tried and tested one and not have to fit another clutch in a couple of more years.

I just put an A&A Sc on my z. The clutch we went with was the McLeod RST. Lots of people use it, but some use the RXT. Both are great.

I've got the RPS Twin Carbon with a Tick master, and although the combo is very abrupt, it'll hold all of my 600+ RWHP. I didn't spend much more than a McCleod twin would cost, IIRC. Get a full face clutch instead of a puck type for smoother engagement.

I put in the Fidanza 7.6 dual disk along with their aluminum flywheel. Very streetable and it'll hold anything you want to throw at it.

A Level 3 Monster would get you taken care of with the supercharger and can take a beating. Heck, our 11" Ceramic single just held 1111rwtq.

We run the RPS BC2. They also make a non-billet which is less expensive but still contains all carbon faces. I understand that you do not track the car; however, this clutch is a great DD and will take untold amounts of abuse. (We have approximately 16,000 miles on this clutch. It has taken launches well over 6000 rpm and has facilitate 60's in the mid 1.3s.) No other Street/Strip clutch can make this claim.

Thanks guys - I'll take a look at all those suggested - but the RPS Twin sounds like the best option and not seen that Tick Master before but that looks like a must have

Our Master is worth it's weight in gold!

If you've not totally ruled out a single disc, take another look at Monster. The Level 3 will support your blower in the future, and we package it together with our Adjustable Clutch Master Cylinder and Remote SPEEDbleeder Line to form our Tick & Monster COMPLETE Clutch Swap Package: http://www.tickperformance.com/97-04...-swap-package/

That package includes everything you should replace or upgrade while doing a clutch.

If you're wanting a twin, McLeod's RXT is an excellent choice: http://www.tickperformance.com/produ...A-1000%29.html

...and RPS manufactures some premium clutches for those who are less budget minded.

Let me know if you have any questions! Best of luck.
