Default Convertible guys

This is to all the convertible guys. I have an 02 convertible and was wondering what's the fasted any one has gone in theirs with the top up and with the top down. I had mine up to 130 the other day and I got to worry I might tear the top off going to fast. Had my 02 Z06 up to 170 with no issues but the convertible was starting to get a little noisy.
Thanks guy
Dave

Best I've done is 110 mph top down.

I should say it was down the runway at the base I fly from.

On a closed course - of course. 165 top down - 180 top up. A lot left on both.

I backed off on both run because I couldn't hear the stereo and my golf clubs were rattling in the trunk.

Tearing the top never crossed my mind..
More like blowing a tire out a high speed crossed my mind everytime..

It does get loud at high speed with top up..
But dont think the top would ever rip..

110 with the top up, was worried about hitting a deer or any other animal at that speed....that would have been very bad!!

On Atlanta Motor Speedway I got up to 134 with the top down. I was so juiced I really don't remember if the wing noise was bad or not. On the next run I got up to 136 with the top up.

Sure would love to make a run on a long runway!

There's an old deserted 4 lane road about 30 miles west of town that was built with a lot of investors money. It's over 10 miles long. The area was going to be a high dollar housing area built I think to capture all the high dollars paid to all the Nuclear workers out at the Palo Verde Reactor. It never really panned out and a lot of guys take their cars out there to see what top end is on them. I had my 91 ZR1 up to 184, my 02 Z06 only hit 175 and my 02 GTS Viper only did 178. I was really disappointed in a couple of my runs. I was really hopping to hit close to the 200 mark. Not yet and I know without a lot of help my 02 Convertible won't do it either. A lot of guys get together and go out over the weekend and see what they can do. Only patrolled by the Buckeye police dept. and they only have about 3 cars going at a time. I've been there with friends over 100 times and never seen any kind of police. I think it's only the Sheriffs jurisdiction. Anyways, when it cools down some more a bunch of guys are taking their cars out there again and I thought I might bring the new convertible and see what it will do. Let you know what happens.

A tad over 190(closed road with people at each end). Road was only a little less than 2 miles long and shut down. Wanted plenty of room to stop. Top was fine.
