I bought one too!

The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts
I just measured my stock ride height at 27.5 front and 28.5 rear so it looks like the front is lowered on yours.
Louisianaian as well and I agree - save your car, DO NOT lower if you like the undercarriage intact. I hit an armadillo (possum on a half-shell) in my truck last Tuesday, Thank God I wasn't in the Vette!
After destroying the LS1, I installed an LQ4 out of a 2500HD. TrickFlow heads, HS roller rockers, PatG camshaft, FAST90 etc. etc. etc.
I put a Moser 12 bolt in it with 4.56 gears. Slicks and skinnies, 28" tall rear tire, ABS deleted, built M12 transmission, built driveshaft, no front sway bar, huge rear sway bar, chassis built torque arm.
It had long tube headers into a 4" over the axle Mufflex exhaust. Loud doesn't begin to describe it.
The car was set up for straight line speed ONLY. Miserable to daily drive, but pretty damn quick.
The Corvette is completely different. It's ALMOST reasonable. Granted it has a larger engine, but it's set up differently and the camshaft seems smaller in comparison due to the larger cubes of the engine.
The exhaust is also much more tame in the Corvette. While it has 1 7/8" Kooks headers, and a 3" x, it goes into a Route66 exhaust that is downright quiet in comparison to the 4" Flowmaster One Chamber that I welded on the Mufflex setup. There are dual cutouts if I want to get loud.
The main difference is being able to turn. I've had many different cars. The last Camaro was the first (and probably only) one that I set up for straight line acceleration. I missed being able to turn so much!
The 3.90s are a nice change from the 4.56s. With the 28" tire, the 4.56s were roughly the equivalent of 4.19s, but with the M12 transmission that I had, that's still a LOT of gear.
Even with the 3.90s I'm not getting WOT traction until 3rd gear. I'm sure this is primarily to blame on the Kumho tires. (I had giant MTs on the Camaro, with huge sidewalls.) I plan to replace the Kumho tires with another street tire though when it's time. I like the idea of getting more than 5000 miles out of a pair of tires. Being less afraid of wet roads is also something I'm looking forward to.
Tape player? Seriously? What the hell?
The driver's seat slides back and forth. Apparently they all do this. We don't have an Ace Hardware. I'm still searching for nylon washers of appropriate size.
I think that the engine bay will be a LOT easier to work in. I replaced the FAST intake bolts with stainless ones, and was pleased with how easy it is to get the intake out. (*"Easy" is apparently relative)
I love the car. I plan on keeping it for a long time.
Thank you for doing this. I will drop my rear to be only 1" higher than the front.

I'm glad you plan on driving it.
That is what Corvettes are made for. Great road trip car. I bought my 2003 in March and have driven it to Florida and New York. I got 31 mpg on my last road trip. Congrats again. Save the wave.
