I'm going to be bleeding my brakes soon for the first time and was wondering what people are using for their brakes. I know GM has said to use dot 4 for clutch from now on, was wondering if they have said the same for brakes..
For the typical driver that does some spirited driving and Auto-X Valvoline DOT 3 & DOT 4 is more than adequate, widely available and a lot less expensive
Motul is the best but will require frequent changes. If you track your car then it won't matter as you should change it frequently. If not then I recommend ATE.

Motul only requires frequent change due to harsh useage, like track use. I'm not aware it has to be changed any more frequently than any other fluid on street cars. I use it on both my track cars and road cars and have never had any issues with it other than the roughly $16/pint cost. However, compared to the Castrol at around $40/pint, its downright cheap.
ATE is very popular with the SCCA guys I know. Someone told me the ATE blue isn't legal in Florida for road use but I've never seen any statute specifically outlawing it. I was told only amber or clear fluid is permissible. The track guys like alternating between blue and amber since when they flush out the system, they can tell from the change in color that they're now completely finished changing the fluid in the lines.
is that clutch and brakes? I am guessing that 3 and 4 can be swapped right over and it is ok to mix them while you are bleeding and refilling until the old stuff is gone. I used to use the superblue but you cant buy it here in FL. State law says no.
