I live in Minneapolis and I also just completed the annual fall hibernation prep. Although I'm a little sad to put it away, the salt and sand that's used here to clear the roads is brutal on our vehicles. Although modern cars certainly remain rust free much longer than they used to, as the singer Neil Young once wrote, "Rust never sleeps."

Here's to a short winter's nap!!

Everybody has to live somewhere, but there must be some pretty incredible inducements to stay in a climate where winter starts this early. So what's the story? What keeps you guys in the frozen north?

There a lot worst places to live. When I look at hurricanes, floods, eartquakes, tornados, wildfires, and duststorms, I think I will stay right here!

Sir, if you have to ask, you will never understand. The cold and snow can be a PITA. However, it is but one of our 4 seasons. Like the song goes, "without winter there can be no spring". Every spring we get to unwrap our toy and again it is all new and exciting. As harsh as the winters can be, they can be every bit as beautiful. Like you say, everybody has to live somewhere. Make my somewhere a place with 4 gorgeous seasons. I hope this somewhat answers your question.
