You can do it, but not really necessary. I hook mine to a Battery Tender Plus and its good for all winter.
Thats what i do and have done with my vette(s) for the last 10 years, as well as my Harley, and even JD lawn tractor. Better option i feel, then removing the battery.
I left mine in all winter last year I didnt know I was supposed to take it out I did start it once in a while I have never had a problem up to this point, should I put a trickle charger on it or just leave it alone?

Thats is what i was doing, but i was told starting up your vette in winter is nt really a good idea, because everything in it is cold, oil,and other fluids, i just took mine out and keeping the battery inside, did that with the bikes battery and the bike started right up besides i really hate going out to the garage with the ground having 12 or more inches on the ground
