Time to freshen the differential, so considering a move to 3.90 gear set in the process. The car is primarily used for open track with occasional drives to work. Not concerned about gas mileage or RPM on the highway, but would like faster acceleration coming out of corners. Question here is do I need a retune with just the gear swap or will my current tune work? Thinking it may need retune to make the speedo correct.

Appreciate the guidance.

Lots of guys running 3.90 gears with good results. You don't need a retune, but your tuner should be able to quickly change the gear ratio in your calibration.
No changes necessary for the speedo to read correctly. The speedo sensor on the C5 diff reads the ring gear (wheel) speed, regardless of the input shaft speed.
