Default c5 suspension

I'm going to replace my C5 R45 RTD suspension with bilstein shocks. I have the RTD simulators. I'm looking for suggestions in regards to using heavy duty or sport shocks. My reasoning, if it makes sense, is 1, cost of replacing one R45 shock; 2, I can't feel the difference between tour, sport, or perf and not sure if it even works. Thanks for any input.

Are you going to lower the car at all? If yes than I suggest you go with the sports.

It's definitely worth replacing your older and probably tired F45 Mag Ride shocks with a quality set of replacements. If you're looking for improved handling and better than Z06 ride quality you should take a look at our Johnny O'Connell package. It's typically sold as a sway bar and shock replacement combo, but we do sell each component individually.

You will notice an immediate difference in the handling of your car after installing the Johnny O' shocks. The car will be a little more aggressive over low speed road irregularities, but softer over large bumps like road expansion joints and highway dips. We designed this system with factory racer Johnny O'Connell to have a nice performance increase while retaining sporty but compliant ride quality. We like the system so much we run it daily on our shop cars when we aren't doing suspension development.

If you've got any questions let us know. We know this is a really great shock upgrade for folks not looking to get as aggressive as coilovers and still retain an OEM+ ride quality.

I've had this Johnny O'Connell stage 1 on my car for about 1-2 months now. You can feel the bumps a little more, but the big bumps are much more tolerable. The car also handles a lot better with the new sway bars.

Highly recommend this setup.

You'll love the Bilstein HD's. The Sports are better suited for lowered and/or tracked cars. The HD's will give you a slightly stiffer but more composed ride. Best shocks I've ever had on any car. I highly recommend them. Add to that, a lifetime warranty and you will quickly find that they are the best "bang for the buck".

Thanks so much for the recommendation. It's users like you guys here that lend all the credibility that we need. Its easy to promote how Pfadt just does things different from others, and the result is always the best performance and ride quality possible when we have customers supporting us. Cant say thanks enough to both you guys and the countless others.
