Dead battery and security system issues.
My father-in-law tragically lost his fight with cancer and I'm trying to help my MIL get his Vet running to try to sell it. I'm not a Chevy guy so I'm clueless on GM vehicles.
His is a 99' model and has been sitting for about 8 months and the battery is completely dead. I hooked the battery charger up to it this evening and the alarm instantly went off. It didn't have enough juicy to beep the horn but you could hear it clicking and the security light was flashing. It wouldn't turn off with the FOB (assuming the battery in it was good), or buy putting key in the ignition. I just had to unplug the charger to kill the alarm.
I'm not sure what to do to get the battery charged so I can get it running for her. Any help would be appreciated.
