As the window gets to about 3/4 up, it jars and makes noise.
I took the door panel off, inspected the motor and it seems fine. I can not see anything, but it sounds like its coming from the front, 8 inches in. The window is not getting scratched, but it does sound as if somthing is rubbing or blocking a little. This happened after I took a corner too sharp in a parking garage scratching my back rim on the passenger side. I was going slow, but the car was jared a little.
Thanks, that looks like a good post that I can use for other things, but I don't think this is an electrical problem. In testing seems to have pleanty of power.
its not freyed and is not coming off the pully. Its hitting 2 things. A rubber part of the cable towards the back, top pully of the window and somthing bigger towards the front top pully, that I can't see. There is a peice of felt the size of a dime on that pully. I moved it with my finger and it moves around, might be loose.
Neither of the pulley bolts came lose? Unless you have a defective one or some other strange issue, if the cable isn't off a pulley or the cable hasn't broke some of the wires in the cable, I'm not sure what else to suggest. Mine had broken wires inside of the regulator itself and sounded like they were having an issue on the rails instead.
Might be slightly frayed, but was not obvious - I'll take a closer look tonight.
The fray will get stuck in the motor and when it comes out is when you get that bad sounding noise - believe me I know and it only gets worse over time.
You need to replace the window regulator set-up - regardless if the motor itself is in top condition.
Ok, I took the whole pully window regulator out and pluged it in where I could examine it closely. I moved it up and down several times. Its not freyed at all. The problem seems to be the white plastic inserts under the springs. Both of them are a little busted up that is causing the spring connection to work clumbsy. If that is the problem, is there a cheap fix, or should I just ignore the noise.
Personally I would never ignore it but it sounds like the regulator assembly needs to be replaced. It won't last forever and its fairly easy to replace.

Pictures do always help - but if you look at it and something is broken and not working as original then the answer should be to replace it - Ask yourself what you would tell someone else who showed it to you.
They are cheap enough and you already have it out plus you now have experience -
