Default Hot Rod Garage

I have had my Vette for exactly 77 days now and finally got to put it in the garage for some "minor" tweaks over the winter. Previously occupying the spot was our father/son S10 V8 project. (400hp 350 SB that ought to go pretty fast)

Anyway, I couldn't get a pic of my fancy 3 car garage with lift and machine shop until now.

I have lived here for 30 years and out of this garage have rolled 13, 12, 11, 10 and 9 second 1/4 mile cars. My current hot rod, the Nova is a blast to drive, but hardly one to take on a trip anywhere. So I will sell it and build this Vette to go mid/low 11's, and be able to actually go places other than to the dragstrip and back.

Since joining the forum in Aug, I have bought: (All from fellow forum members)

2000 A4 Coupe
3.42 3 rib diff
3600 Yank converter
Spare A4 trans
AFR 205 heads
Custom Comp cam and pushrods
Fast 102 intake W/90mm LS2 TB complete with rails and injectors
XS Power headers

So I have my work cut out for me over the winter.
Think I can pull it off?

Great wealth of info here, and great folks to deal with. So kudos to those who I bought from!
I have also hooked up with Wong's Performance here in Portland. Turned out we were high school classmates! Tom will be a great help in my project when it comes to Vette knowledge and tune time.

Ron

Thanks!

Need to clean and re-arrange before I jack the car up.
Then put the plan in place for the work sequence. Should I use MS Project?

By the tape measure, I have 38" in front of the car (If I move the roll away) and 15" behind it.........

Ideally a Kwik lift would be most usefull for your size garage to do the type of work that you have planned.
However, a couple of hydraulic floor jacks & 4 (tall) H/D jack stands & maybe a couple or so medium sized jack stands, proper blocking to do the front & rear cross member lifting will work out too.
I'd plan on re-aranging the garage to give you room in the front & rear of the car.
Good luck.

Yep, definately need to re-arrange.
And get 4 HD tall jack stands. The HD ones I have are too short.
Got the floor jacks. And will buy a trans jack as well.
And a good electric heater! (There goes the electric bill)
I was just on the Harbor freight site, and I believe they have what I need.
It's going to be fun!

Yes electric heat is quite expen$ive but it puts out a nice dry heat.
I use two of the larger style kerosine heaters for my 24x22 garage.
This time of year one heater does the job, but in the bitter cold the two heaters does just fine.
