The VR one? If it is I remember seeing it for sale a while back. I wouldn't have mind picking that one up. Sick ride for sure.
It was a TR 2002 ZO6 with a built 390 and tt setup (front mount) and a few extras. Yeah, it was a pretty stout vette. He told me about a run against a pullied ZR1 and how he pulled it twice.
Back and running! Been about 2 days now. Got the tune cleaned up a bit and I didn't keep to my word. LOL Put a cam in it. Nothing big 224/228 .534.537 on 112 lsa. Lost a little torque down low but nothing serious. LT headers along w/ the catted X made a huge difference. It was peppy before but now it's silly even for a 346ci. May have to upgrade the clutch but it's a new stocker in there now so it'll die of natural causes 1st. Put 200 miles on it yesterday and felt good. Still a littel more tweaking in the tune is required as I'm fat in some areas and a little too much timing in others. Changed the oil and put 6 qts in and after 200 miles the low oil level indicator pops up. Had about a teasonspoon of oil in the catch can too. Something else to check. Aside those minor issues it runs like a champ.
You already got it all back together, but was going to suggest at least putting the Comp Cams Trunnion Upgrade Kit ($130) in the stock rocker arms and getting some stronger pushrods ($120~160). Those, along with the springs are the weak links in the valve train.

Thanks!
I was going to put in some hardened 7.400's but didn't know if they were 3/8. As for the trunnion kit I thought about that too but figure I'll just get some yellaterras after the new yr. Just can't decide on whether to get adjustable or non adjustable.
224/228 cams were always the tried and true cams back in the day....I definitely wouldnt have gone any bigger in a daily driver as far as duration but...I am curious as to why you went with less lift then stock (.551)? I'm sure you picked up a good bit of power from 4000-6800 but.... There is definitely a trade off below that... From a racing standpoint, it you are rarely below 4000 anyway but in normal driving or even spirited driving, you are rarely above 4000 so.... its all a compromise...
I'll be curious to see what yours throws up on the dyno...Hopefully you can get all of the part throttle/idle quirks worked out of the tune pretty easy...

As for the cam, it's what my buddy had laying around. LOL! We were just like the hell w/ it...lets put it in. I can definitely tell I lost a little torque on the low end. Didn't realize it'd be that significant but in a way I kind of like it but we may be able to get some of it back w/ some more tuning. Now though it just pulls to no end it seems. It's a wkend cruiser for me and won't see any 1/4 time but true track time...Talledega and Road Atlanta. Worse case I put some 3.90's back there to recoupe my torque loss.
