2023 C5 of the Year Finalist - Unmodified
I went with Cray Scorpions in 18/19 and fitted non runflat Toyo Proxes at the same time. I'd intended that the larger diameter should fill out the wheel arches a little but I went for slightly lower profile tires so I finished up with a similar look.
Handling wise, I didn't find as big a difference over the Michelin AS ZPs that the Toyos replaced. If anything, the ride is slightly harder. I tend to scrape the air dam a little more now but not so much that it's a pain. No problems at all with the AH as I kept the stagger.
I've considered getting wheel spacers to give a slightly wider stance at the rear.

OK, so I see 18s and 19s in my picture. Anybody, use the new Michieln Super Sport tire? I am seeing some very interesting feedback at tire websights stating these are the ones to beat. I want a performance tire that is quiet, works good in rain, makes the car run on rails and last a reasonable time. Size of tire is also something that is all over the place. With a 18 x 9.5 and a 19 x 10 what is the ideal tire size?
Are these good widths?

JW those wheels on the black vette look sweet! I am looking at higher cost tires and those wheels would help my budget! THink they would look good on a torch red vert with black top?

I'm looking to do 18" front and 19" rear but my concerns are tire selection, seems like with 17/18 combo, there are a lot of options out there. Haven't really looked at the 18/19 combo, though.
I did C6 Z06 shocks and it seems like it's raised the ride height. I'm assuming that running 18/19 would lessen the gap a little bit? I would also slightly lower the car as well in order to bring the car back to stock ride height ('03 Z).
Was going to go with the TSW rotary forged series.

My 2nd C5 I started out with 19/20's, then went down to 18/19's. My FRC has aftermarket C5z wheels in 17/18 and I think I'll be keeping with that size. I like having a bit more sidewall to look at.

I think the main difference would be the tire height & tire price.
By going with the 18' & 19" combo you will loose some sidewall height which equates to a bit stiffer ride.
If you are still using the OEM runflats, even with the larger tire combo the ride will be much improved
I went with the TSW Nurburgring 19 & 18 combo and love the look.
These wheels are Rotary Forged and actually weigh less than the OEM wheels.
It all comes down to personal choice & how much you want to spend.
The hardest part is choosing the wheels you want.
Good luck.

Running 18/19's with standard C6 tire and wheel sizes (I figured GM actually might actually know what they are doing) and moderate lowering to center up the wheels in the openings. Got them as a package from Tire Rack - jack up car, change wheels, "learn" TPMS sensors and you are done. Especially good if you get a deal - my rear wheels were only $119 on sale, and the fronts only $164 - drastically different to what some people are paying for so-called "brand name" wheels that don't look any better.
Pros: looks so much better. It really does, no excess "air" over the wheels.
Cons: none, in the real world. The unsprung weight is higher, but I am not in F1 so it's irrelevant.
Tires are Michelin Pilot A/S. Great tires. Even got me home in major snow a couple of times. Much, much better grip than my previous summer tires.

Love these wheels, very reasonable price for the quality!

C5 of Year Finalist (appearance mods) 2019
My car now has 19x10's and 19x11's, with 275/30 and 295/35/19 BFG's. I prefer the staggered diameter look so I ordered a pair of 18x9.5 fronts.
Just have to decide on tire sizes, as the old units need replacement.

I went with 18's & 19's and C6 tire sizes. Did it primarily for looks. I don't race the car so there is no down side IMO. Ride and handling are great.

holy 7yr old thread resurrection!
running 'square' identical F&B will probably cause the active handling etc to wig out. Some people say no issues, some have issues with a few minutes, your mileage may vary. The system is looking for a size difference (rpm difference) front to back.
As far as looks go: I think the C5 looks much better with rear 1" larger in back. Some people run 18 or 19 (even 20) all around, does not look right to me.
My car is currently on C6ZR1 reps in stock C5Z sizes 17/18. I think it looks good but a bit small. Considering going to 18/19 or 19/20.

What I perceive as the problem of a square setup by both wheel and tire size is does one end up with too much tire in the front, or not enough tire in the rear? The car was designed for larger tires in the rear, and for looks alone I like it. I also don’t know of many other high performance cars that have total square setups.
Appearance wise I see lots of discussion about filling the wheel well. That’s fine, and I must admit that the c6 sizes do a better job of that.
However, because the rear is usually one size lower in profile than the front (40/35 for example) I have seen examples where the same size rim all around results in a lower profile tire in the rear, giving the appearance of a smaller tire back there, which is not proportionally pleasing to me.
Since ride quality is important to me, I chose to have 17/18 rims in Z06 sizes. Going to lower profiles with larger wheels usually reduces ride quality and increases harshness.
