Default E-brake Light

Hi Corvette brothers.
I did a search and it yielded nothing...

After braking and giving some hard acceleration my ebrake light comes on. Then goes off a couple seconds later.
So after my foot has been off the brake already for a couple seconds the light comes on.

Any ideas.
Has this happend to anyone?

Dave

Here was something that was posted on the forum a while back - might be worth looking into.

The inside console light comes on after braking, after letting off the brake and starting to accelerate again, after a rolling stop.

The dealer says it's because I need brake pads and that the fluid is doing whatever, blah, blah, blah, because of the thin pads.

What do you guys think? Any other reason for the brake light to go on?

I need pads, but they aren't rubbing or anything. I have about 46,000 on 2001 original pads.

(Answer posted): You need pads. The light comes on because sensor is saying fluid is low because pads are low.

If the parking barke is fully off then its telling you that the brake fluid level is low. A pad check would be a good idea.

There use to be a switch inside of the master cylinder or the pressure distribution unit that would trip the light if too much fluid went unevenly, therefore indicating a serious leak or other issue. Assuming its still present in all vehicles these days, you need to do some immediate brake inspections, leak checks and etc...
