Default How cold is too cold?

Had 67 degree clear weather on Thanksgiving. Dropped the top and went for a drive in the early afternoon. My wife couldn't believe I was going out with the top down.

Over the past summer, I drove my Vert with the top down 95% of the time. As far as I concerned, I can turn the heater on if necessary.

Question: When is it too cold to drive with the top down or off (coupes)?

We have had convertibles for years and have found that the cutoff is about 70 for us. Much cooler and its just not comfortable. Not that we haven't tried it

As long as the sky is clear I have the top off. So in single digits for me. I just bundle up with heater on.

Mid 50's is about as low as I go with the top down-not much fun lower than that.

You guys are diehards, most times I see a top down below 70* it has temp. tags on it.

Depends on the time of year. On a sunny day in the fall, about 65 degrees and above, I'll have the top down. In the spring, 55 and sunny, the top will be down.

my C5 is a daily driver so all I need is NO rain in the forcast (or on my phone's weather channel app) and 50 degrees and I'm going topless. living at the beach in SC means my top is down more than it is up

It depends where I'm going. If it's just a short hop around town then 60-65 is the cut off. If I'm going to do highway then no less than 70.

Usually mid 50s is border line too cold in normal clothes. Have bundled up when it's colder, but often I just wuss out and keep the top up.

When you have an inch of snow on the floor put the top up.

growing up (yes it was years ago, lol) the rule of thumb was 50. i still adhere to that as long as you are dressed appropriately. i live in so florida, so that is basically all year long with very few exceptions, fortunately.

We don't use the temp as a guide line here. No rain, no ice or snow on the roads and we are good to go. Top down, windows up, and heater on in the late fall and early spring.

40 with windbreaker (jacket), cap and the heat on full blast. Will only do it early in the morning when I am going to a coffee cruise in the Springtime when temps will go up higher later.

At least here today, it would have been too cold for the top to come off the car - it only got to about 36*.
