Default Dash lights...hard to replace?

The Fuel and Gages lights, #'s 1&2 have been "flickering" lately. Are they difficult to get to and replace? Should I replace all of them in that panel while there? Thanks for the help.

There are actually two uv lights, one on each side of the cluster that light the gauges, the numbers on the gauges are a special paint that glows under the lights.
Not sure where to get them or how to replace.

Wow, I did not know that. So I wonder why just the two are on sometimes and other times not? Gremlin???

It could be possible that your multifuction switch is the problem. I had my dash lights go out and hit a small bump and they when on. Repaired the switch myself and it has been good for the last 2 years. This link is what I used to fix the problem: http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c5-t...f-replace.html
Taking the switch out is not to hard.
If you are going into the gauge area I used these steps to take it out. http://www.vetteessentials.com/instr...zel_howto.html
I am changing all the switch bulbs out for LED bulbs and since I have the gauges out any way I am going to add the rings to the gauges.

I am pretty sure you have the wrong info since I have had my cluster out in the past.
Although the 2 UV light bulbs are there to enhance the lighting, there are bulbs back behind the individual gauges and a few behind the Tach and MPH clusters. Those can burn out and dim that specific part of the cluster even though the UV light could possibly be working.

You will have to remove an disassemble the gauge cluster to get at them, which means starting with the removal of the center console to start with. It should take you about a hour to get it apart and the same to put it back together.

Those are for the warning lights. The gauges are lit only by the UV lights.

You should re-do your "DIC" lightis with LED's. Here is the link. My #1 and #2 button also went out about a month ago, so I'm going to replace all of my dash, door, and HVAC stock lights with blue LED's.
