Default Auto cross question

I know tire brands and quality change rapidly. What tire is the best for auto cross now. Many of the sticky tires are not sold in stock C5 sizes. I recently purchased a set of Hankook V12 tires, but I found that they are rated at 280 treadware, which is a much harder compound than a Nitto Nt05r, but that tire does not come in our stock sizes.

there is a section on the forum just for autocross and road course where lots of people can give you a better answer than here in C5 general.

yes, post there

and give more info

like what club(s) will you run with? NCCC, SCCA, other?

meaning the rule set may dictate sizes and/or wear ratings -- you don't want to buy something recommended on the forum and later find out that choice puts your car into a class where you have zero chance

and post what wheel size you plan to or must use

and whether you will drive to events on the tires or trailer the car or the tires

lots of factors will influence the answers you get

and those Hankook V12s are great street tires for the money, but far from optimal for autocross with any club
