Default C5 vs C6 question

While looking for my C5, I talked to a guy who said that he had a C5, then traded up to a C6. He said that of the two he liked driving the C5 better. I can't imagine being any happier with anything other than my 02 vert. I haven't gotten around to driving a C6 yet, but it's on my bucket list. For those of you that's had both, if you could only choose one, which would it be?

my comparison experience is very limited, so I don't know how valuable you will find this, but it was a drive in a brand new 2011 that convinced me to buy my '02.

I drove the C6 when it first appeared. It wasn't a big enough step forward for me to consider a trade. I enjoyed the extra few HP but nothing else grabbed my attention.

I currently have a C5 & C6 both are convertibles. In short my opinion is the C5 is more of what an american V8 sports car should be while the C6 is more of a luxury 2 seat car with electronic convenience features that are not necessary in a high performance car.

I drove an '07 vert for about 1500 miles a few years ago - nice but not that much different than a C5. So when I sold my '00, I replaced it with an '03 - partly due to cost and partly due to there not being that much difference between the C5 and C6.

I am one of the few on here in the C5 section that likes the C6, If I had the bucks the C5 would be gone and a C6Z would be in my driveway.

You're definitely not the only one, if I had the option to trade up to a c6z the c5 would be gone in a heartbeat. Especially if it was a Ron Fellows' z06.

I'm sure that over all, the C6 is a better car. But, it comes down to design and styling for me. In twenty years, the C6 will be remembered for being fast.....period. The C5 will be remembered for its timeless beauty and incredible leap forward in design and innovation compared to everything else before it.

I like the C6 better too. Love the body style, interior doesn't make much of a difference to me though. Still contemplation if I should keep my C5 or sell and get a C6.

If my C5 wasn't so dang hot and great running and I wasn't so informed on Vettes now , I wouldn't know the difference and might buy a C6.

But alas, I know and have my C5.

Me too.
Never to old to Rock & Roll in a ride like that.

I go back and forth with liking the C6 then not liking to C6, I've just never been able to decide that the time is right to really want to make the move.

They're both great cars!

I have an '01 vert that I really enjoy.

I had an '08 Z06 that was a fantastic car. Much better balance of power and better suspension. I sold the Z and picked up a ZR1 which is an awesome car - but I still enjoy the C5

If you're going to go for a C6 Z06 you'll be impressed but the C5 lines are a better look in my mind

I like most things about it but not the front lights so much. I still like the C5 better though. But to be honest I don't know much about them.

BUT, if I had the extra cash I would have a C6 Z06 in a heartbeat. I wouldn't get rid of my FRC to get one though.
