I drive a 00 vert that I bought with painted thin spokes. I recently noticed one of the front wheels was somewhat different from the others. Via this forum I found out that my car came with "early" wheels. I decided to search this forum for a matching wheel which I found, purchased and it arrived today. I was surprised to find that, although matching the others as I wanted, it was the same silver painted color on the spokes as on the inside of the wheel. My other 3 wheels are painted the same silver color on the spokes and outside rim but the inside of the wheels are painted a darker gray color.
Are my other 3 wheels custom painted or stock? Who manufactures the paint and what is the manufacturer's name for the dark gray paint as I would like to purchase some?
As always, this forum has never let me down, no matter what my question has been. I'm hoping someone hears me out there.
Is it possible that the rim you purchased is just off a lower mileage car and the inside barrels of your rims are darker due to the brake dust over the years?
You are correct, darker gray on wheel barrels is "brake dust" and wheel I recieved yesterday was barely used. I'll start another thread on cleaning brake dust of painted wheel barrels.

Again, thanks!

I used soft scrub on my painted camaro wheels and it worked really well, only thing I couldnt get off was the clumps of tar or whatever it was on the barrels. Other than those small spots of crud they looked brand new.
