Hey everyone! I'm a former C2 and C3 owner and now have my first C5 coupe. Picked it up in N.C. with only 23,800 miles on her and drove it back to Florida and looks like a new car. Anyway I read this somewhere else but can't recall where .
"There is a spot on the driver side just out of the middle compartment under the carpet for the lug nut key" Can someone explain this better for me? I certainly can't find this secret place.
I know what your talking about, I read the same thing on C5 Secrets. I too can not find this secret indent for the wheel key on my convertible either, and I did look everywhere in every compartment. Maybe they just did it on certain years, who knows.
If you remove the driver's side stowage lid in the back, there's an indent between the left and middle compartments, at the top where the walls of the two compartments meet.
Take the center compartment lid off and look along the left ridge (standing at rear of car facing forward) that the compartment lid rests on (the grey material) and toward rear bumper - you'll see an indentation in the grey material where the key should be.
Its a small indentation, maybe the size of a 3/8 drive socket...or like a thumb impression.
Welcome to the C5 world, need to post a few pictures of the new car, it is kind of mandatory here. What year C5 and C3 did you have or still have? I also had a C2 and a C3 '66 BB 427/425 and I had a '77 plus a C4.

I know...I'll take some pics tomorrow and post them. C5 is an 02' fully loaded 6 spd with f45 option and everything else, dual tops, etc. Not a friggin mark on the car anywhere! Got a great deal on it.
My C2 was a 65' 327/365 hp convertible with removable H/T, red of course. That was back in 73' when I was stationed at Nellis in Las Vegas.
Just sold a red 79' L82.
I'm happy to be in a C5....

Bingo. If it's not there, the previous owner may have misplaced it.
