bored with the car or bored with where you've driven it? tune the auto to shift at high RPM's only and find a track with a corner on it
I've driven the car from northcentral Pa down to Miami and back with no problems. The auto was built by ECS and the car is tuned to shift at higher RPM's. Been down the 1/4 mile with it and also down the Atlantic City Expressway a couple of times for the Kerbeck Toys for Tots run (lots of fun driving for 17 miles). I have definately had a lot of fun with this car and hopefully a lot more!
One thing that I would like to do is the salt flats or take it around Daytona race track. That would be a kick.
I've had my '98 for nearly 12 years and I've never been bored with it. It's the only car I've ever owned that I enjoy more now than I did when I first purchased it.
After owning my C5 and modding it to my liking I am finding myself bored with it and considering selling. The mods include:
ECS Paxton Novi supercharger
3.42 Z06 gears
Corsa Touring cat back
dyno tune
American Racing headers w/high flo cats and x-pipe
ECS built transmission (A4)
2800 stall TC
The car runs like a raped ape with 500 rwhp. Seems that I am just not driving it much anymore and it's tucked away in the garage for the winter again. I've owned it over 6 years and guess that I'm just getting bored.
I got bored with my '00 after 7+ years of ownership and sold the car. As soon as the new owner got in and drove off, I knew I had made a mistake. Just think carefully about whether you really want to get something new - sometimes an old friend can give you more pleasure than a new one.
I had a similar experience with a 59 hadtop. I have regretted
selling that 59 for all of these years. I have a 2000 that has
been "mod'ed" since I bought it and I will never make the same
mistake twice.
Give it alot of thought.

I've regretted selling a lot of cars. I hope I don't make the same mistake again. I've had some pretty rare cars in my day. None of them very fast because they were seventies cars. But try to find one now and it's almost impossible.
73 Chevelle SS 454
75 Roadrunner
77 Z 28
69 Toronado (I think it was a 69 maybe 66. I called it my bigass vette) almost looked like an overgrown vette
just for starters.
I plan on keeping my FRC until they pry it from my dead cold hands, along with my guns
You are definately on the right track here. Every car that I have modded over the years, I have gotten bored with soon after.
I can really relate to this advice. I'm a NCRS member and I had a 1979 L-48 barn find, and it took me 12 years to get it the point of having it judged. It took a lot of work on my behalf. Put ya know I had it judged in 2003 in Wildwood, NJ and I won a second flight award, damn close to top flight. But as soon as the dust settled and I had won my second flight award, I lost all interest in it. It was the 'Work' that I enjoyed, tearing out the interior and refitting it with all new or as close to NOS parts as I could find and making sure the serial numbers all matched and then it was judged.
I'd park it for the winter and see if your still not happy with all your efforts. IMHO
The best thing to do is park the vette in the garage. Then buy you a new toy and every now and then you will get the urge to get the vette out. I know because i have several cars and i may not even look at one for months.
