This car kicks azz with the ECS built A4! It is certainly not a matter of the car running fast as hell because it does. That's why I have to get a roll bar installed to continue running at the track. Took it down the track this spring and with street tires it ran an 11.7 @ 124 mph. If I ran under an 11.5 without a roll bar I'd get banned at the track.
Maybe the fact that I'll be 60 in a few weeks has something to do with this mood (only temporary I hope). Anyway, ECS is going to give me a price for the roll bar and hopefully this spring I'll be kickin some azz on the track.
The best thing to do is park the vette in the garage. Then buy you a new toy and every now and then you will get the urge to get the vette out. I know because i have several cars and i may not even look at one for months.
I can really relate to this advice. I'm a NCRS member and I had a 1979 L-48 barn find, and it took me 12 years to get it the point of having it judged. It took a lot of work on my behalf. Put ya know I had it judged in 2003 in Wildwood, NJ and I won a second flight award, damn close to top flight. But as soon as the dust settled and I had won my second flight award, I lost all interest in it. It was the 'Work' that I enjoyed, tearing out the interior and refitting it with all new or as close to NOS parts as I could find and making sure the serial numbers all matched and then it was judged.
I'd park it for the winter and see if your still not happy with all your efforts. IMHO
There are a few things that I want to do to it while it's in hibernation. I like some of the ideas about coil overs and bigger brakes. Have to think about those for awhile.

Don't forget that you have built "YOUR" Corvette! Starting over means only accomplishing the same goal again. From the above posts, yours and others, it sounds like you could continue to upgrade an already great car. I could afford to buy a C6 Z06 and begin the mod cycle again. But if I could build a super C5,,,,,,,There aren't many of those!
And the C5 is the best looking of the later gens IMHO!
I say, if you can afford it, kept it. Take up another hobby or something. You will come back to it. I can't remember how many times, I sold everything, claiming "I'm done". Only to come back after a couple of years. I not getting any younger so, I staying in the game this time
Nothing is better than when you are putting your hard work and your hard earned money into your car and feeling that anticipation of how awesome it is going to feel. And nothing replicates that feeling you get when you first mash the throttle, not knowing what to expect, and the power is just ridiculous.
Then you finally reach the end and you think "finally I am done, now I can enjoy the car" but nope, you just get bored instead. It is like those kids addicted to online RPGs like warcraft...when the leveling is done, they get bored until the next expansion pack comes out...rinse-repeat.
I am going through the same thing right now. Just the nature of the beast. Racing the car and chasing an ET will probably tide you over for a while. Until you finally reach your target ET and get bored again .

Hey, I see that you are another Pa Corvette enthusiast! I guess that once ECS puts in the roll cage, I'll get out of my slump and hit the 1/4 mile again.
I was just out in the garage and wiped down the engine bay. I really do love this car and would hate to get rid of it.

Yep . Seems to be a ton of vette enthusiasts in the area. Maybe that is why ECS chose this location . Or maybe ECS has that much influence on people picking up vettes around here.
I can understand where you're coming from. During the winter hibernation period I get bored and think what else I could be driving that would stir my passion again. When I sold my 99 coupe a couple years ago I really wanted a 911 but the wife was adamant about replacing it with another C5 so I bought a 2003 and while I love the car I can't help wonder if the 911 would have been a better choice. I'll admit I get easily bored with a car after a couple years and look to something different. Good luck with whatever you decide

I had my bright red C3 Stingray coupe for five years and then got "bored" with it. Everyone who didn't see it every day thought it was fabulous. This 2001 C5 convertible I just purchased has my full attention now. I'm in awe of it with the top down. Still can't believe its mine. Actually, the bank owns one third of it. I guess its normal to get bored eventually with any car that you have. I always wanted a C3 and I got bored with it. Hopefully I can get a nice price or trade-in on the C5 when I get bored with it.

Wow, we're neighbors! I know a couple of others from work that live in Lawrenceville and have Corvettes!
After owning my C5 and modding it to my liking I am finding myself bored with it and considering selling. The mods include:
ECS Paxton Novi supercharger
3.42 Z06 gears
Corsa Touring cat back
dyno tune
American Racing headers w/high flo cats and x-pipe
ECS built transmission (A4)
2800 stall TC
The car runs like a raped ape with 500 rwhp. Seems that I am just not driving it much anymore and it's tucked away in the garage for the winter again. I've owned it over 6 years and guess that I'm just getting bored.
Any suggestions?
Your raped ape needs a new rapee!... Suggest you get yourself raped with a Dodge truck...and if You're still bored with that perhaps a Yugo will bring fond memories of times past with that boring old C5 Corvette.
