I took my car to the National Corvette Museum last weekend to be put on display. (It will be on display Jan, Feb and March) My car ran great from Charleston SC until I got to Asheville NC in the mountains. I know my car runs very rich. (It has to be re tuned) My question is, will a car that runs rich in Charleston SC run to lean in the mountains of NC TN and KY? From having cold dense air. The problem was the car would run fine then it would sputter then be fine and then in a few miles do it again. It was still acting up when I was in KY with a rough idle. Does anyone have any idea what it could be?
I thought gas too.
I filled up 2 time with 93 and use my gas additive the ck engine light never came on. I can't ck the car its at the museum till I go back and get it in April.
I would imagine bad gas is the culprit. I live in the mountains of western North Carolina and I travel up and down the mountain into Greenville all the time without issue. I only use premium without ethanol. Good Luck.
