Default Tire pressure sensors

Does anyone know of a person or company that rebuilds or replaces batteries in the sensors on an exchange basis.
It would be great when replacing tires to bring a set of sensors to the tire shop..................

Forum member Bakersfield also used to do this - but not sure if he still does or if he is even still on the forum.

Default TPS sensors

I purchased one off of the internet aution site rebuilt for $45 and it works fantastic. Additionally I found this site that offers them for considerably less than the dealerships.

I am assuming you are talking about a pre 01 car.
01-04, the battery is not changeable and they are cheap enough just to replace with new.
97-00 have the expensive TPMS and the battery that can be carved out and replaced.
TireRack also sells the TPMS cheaper, like $65 each or so.

Check you tube for a video tutorial on the 97-00 sensor battery replacement. All that is needed are basic soldering skills and some replacement batteries. I've redone 6 sensors and had one fail after installation. Good think I had a spare.

I think it took about 10-15 minutes per sensor to replace the battery, then I let them sit overnight to let the silicone gasket material cure.

Good luck.

I did 4 of these and had good results. Just be slow and deliberate and you should be fine.
