Borla Stinger installed on Z06 (Merry Christmas to me!)
I snatched up a used Borla Stinger 2-tip exhaust from TPE (thanks Jennifer!) as a Christmas present to my Z06. The exhaust was a little rough, as it had been previously installed on a car with a Tigershark rear bumper and was missing a few of the pipes (just regular 2.5" pipe, not the mufflers, connectors or tips).
Over the Christmas break, I took the car to a local exhaust place to have them fab up some new connecting pipes and install the system. My car is lowered, and because of this I was turned away at two exhaust shops before the third one agreed to take the plunge and see if my car would make it up the ramp to the lift without tearing up the front spoiler or rocker panels. It fit, but barely .
The stock Ti exhaust came off fairly easily, but I was surprised that we had to remove the rear sway bar in order for the exhaust to come out. Those over-the-axle pipes are a weird angle. The Stingers did not come with any exhaust clamps, so we had to weld the pieces together, which necessitated some careful line up of the mufflers, pipes and tips to ensure the system would hang right and the tips would align out the back. The exhaust guy was really careful and took his time, which meant that the entire operation took longer than the 1.5 hours of labor they ended up charging me (more like 3 hours). The welds look really good, as well, and he took his time to ensure there would not be any exhaust leaks.
All said and done, I am extremely pleased with the purchase and install, and the sound from those pipes is out of this world . This is one of the best mods I have done to the Z, and would highly recommend the Stingers. I don't notice any drone in the higher gears on the highway, and I find myself waiting longer to shift gears just so I can hear the bark from the exhaust. Love the snap, crackle and pop on deceleration, as well.
Here are a few quick cell phone pics. The car is filthy from all the rain we have had lately. Better pics to come once the car gets washed.

Love the Borlas! Nice deep and hollow rumble! I hate raspy, cackly exhaust systems that "flutter" when you decelerate.
Stingers, baby!

Congrats - looks like the shop did a great job.
