If you plan on using this for a daily driver, I'd save the money and go with the 01'. 30,000 miles isn't a lot for a now 9 year old car. If you want a lower mileage car to keep and enjoy occasionally for the next decade +, spend the cash and start taking care of the 03'.
Asking a question like this on the forum is like asking which oil is best, which wax is best or what's the best color. You're going to get a variety of opinions which will only serve to muddy the waters. Follow your heart and you won't go wrong.
If you could park both cars side by side, would you see $5,000 worth of difference? I would say not. The '01 with approx 3,800 miles per year sounds like a well taken of car. And 42K miles is nothing. You will not be sorry. Put the $5K savings away for your next car purchase!
See how low you can get the 03 for but both would be nice. Also look into things like how much brakes are left and the date on the tires. Maybe one has 7 year old tires and the other has 2 year old tires. You would most likely need to replace the 7 year old ones rather soon. So take that into affect and maybe you can get the 03 lowered in price, especially if they are original tires then they should be replaced by now. That's another $800-1500 needed soon.
Does one have the Z51 package or the F55 magnetic ride control package and one the base model? A lot of people like the Z51 better then the base but the differences are minor and usually the firs types of mods people do on either if they do things anyway so it's not really a big deal. The F55 some love and some hate.
Does one come with 2 tops and the other only one top? That's $500 extra if one comes with a glass top along with a colored top. You can either sell it or keep it and know you didn't have to pay $500 extra to get the glass top.
The rest should be pretty simple and nothing majorly different between any other options.
I'd take the '03 guy $20,000 in hundreds (Oh and be really quiet about what you're doing). Tell Mr. '03 this is all you've got. If he says no, drive right over to Mr. '01 and pay him. And with the $5,000 you're saving, take everyone on this forum out for a beer.
I bought an '01 with 46K 3 years ago and it's been a super car.
[QUOTE=Ekul61;1579636956]He is down from 26 to 23,5. On the 03. It is a dealer so he can't sell as low as a private owner[/
Have they said "no" to an offer you have made? If not, you don't know for sure what they will take. Don't be afraid to make an offer, all they can do is say no.
I would absolutely pay the extra 5K for one two years newer with 30K fewer miles.
You have no idea how hard either car has been driven, but for sure one has been driven 30K less. I'd buy that one.
Yes we haggled all day. He came down from 26. To 23,5. That's about going price for a 03 with 13k miles wouldn't you think.
Yep.....I think it's reasonable and since you have haggled all day and if it's the one you want......gitterdone!! I bought the lower mileage car, paid the premium and have not regretted it. I bought my car in October. I know low miles 03 Vettes are not cheap.
The idea of a 13000 mile super sports car for 23,500 that can compete with cars that cost a lot more seems very nice. Also there are not that many yellow manual coupes for sale. Auto trader will have 4 yellow zoo to 1 coupe

You must have liked the car pretty good, if you haggeled all day, huh. I've done that too, and lost the ride I really wanted. The 13,000 mile should be as new.
