2002-2004 - 204/218 .555/.551 117.5 lsa Those are the specs for a factory Z06 cam. the one you are doing is practically the same. I dont see all the work being worth it for the minimal gains youll see.

Huge waste of money, IMO. If you have to have near stock manners, go with at least a 222-226 @114 with about .575 lift. You would barely notice it, except at the track.

But one of my issues is staying smog legal with the route im going not sure how that would stand with a more aggressive cam

Dont even bother with that cam dude. Send your .243's off to AI and have them ported, and you will pick up QUITE a bit and keep the stock cam in. It will run fantastic. Dont even bother with a cam that small.

You could easily run my sleeper cam 218/230 .605/.604 116 and pass smog while picking up twice the gains of that GT2-3 as it has -8* of overlap.

The size cam I suggested will easily pass CA. emissions with a tune. Larger cams have been used in other builds.

You'd be better off going with 1.8 rockers as opposed to using that cam - total waste of money.

The two other suggestions (222-226 @114 with about .575 lift) and (218/230 .605/.604 116) would easily pass CA smog - if that's what you're worried about.

I agree, nothing less than 224. I have the 228R and love it but I don't have inspections in Florida.
