GrapeApe in motion
I haven't posted in this section in quite a while. I bought a cheapo video camcorder to take out in park with me to video my dog playing around, didn't want to drop my expensive camera cause he weighs 110lbs & when he hits the end of the 15ft leash, it's a jolt.
Anyhow, got to thinking wouldn't it be neat to get one of those suction cup camera mounts & do some car videos. So got one & whole setup, mount & camera was less than $80. Got with a friend of mine that has one of the purple 98's, he calls it the GrapeApe. We just did a couple of tries & he put them together in a little video.
Just wanted to share this 1st effort, cause we are gonna try some more creative stuff as we figure this out.

If could have zoomed in to a normal focal range, would have to have had the cars too far apart for that street.
We'll get it better as we go along even tho some think it's weak!
It's for fun, not an academy award.
The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts
They have a better one out now for around $60, it's HD video also, but is 12.5mpg, don't know about the shutter lag time though, but video's should be better.
The suction cup mount is made by Delkin, it's called Fat Gecko Mini Camera Mount. I got it from BH Photo for less than $29 shipped.
Here's pics of camera & mount & pics on car. Got up to 55MPH when 1st tried it, stayed put. Reviews had some guys with bikes going 110mph with it mounted to fairing. It also comes with an extension arm for the mount so you can extend camera further out by about 4". The whole setup is a toy & worth the money I think.

You guys have a good time on the 14th.

Yes, it is the car from PHX. I will not be able to attend on the 14th though. I have had something else planned for a couple months now. Maybe see ya at the next gathering.
