I just installed a Curb Alert mini system on my dads car. I am leaving town to go back to school on Tuesday and was wanting everything to be finished. The problem I am having is that is continually makes the warning tone. I have in connected to the battery, per makers website saying this is alright to do since he didn't want me tearing into the dash to splice into the ignition wire. I can't figure out how to get it to program correctly and only make the warning tone when something is in the path of the beam. Any help on this would be appreciated.
it should be connected to a switched terminal (as in key on) # 22 under pass. side floorboard works check out southern car parts on left side of forum, go in click on curb alert, scroll way down for install video.
I watched that video, but unfortunately I am the one who has the corvette and my dad just got a Roush mustang, so I'm not too sure which fuse to use in that car. I'm assuming on the video they used an add-a-circuit fuse. I'm not too sure what car companies usually do with fuse boxes, but will the fuse slots that are labeled as just holding additional fuses work? I wasn't sure if electricity still ran through these and just never blew the fuse because there was nothing drawing current, or they just weren't connected.
You have a couple of options to get an additional switched acc power source
The easiest is to use fuse #22 which is live but not used for any other function. As you say, you can use an “add a circuit” connector to hook in. This gives you the switched hot.
I used straight blade connector:
You can see how the connector slots into the fuse box
The other option is to hook up into the spare connector which is available for ancillary devices. I believe this is used for the CD changer so it may not be an option for you if you have one of those fitted.
In the passenger footwell (unless you have a 2004) behind the kick board you’ll see a fuse block and to its left a silver box which is the BCM. There are three wires taped together feeding into a connector.
The Black wire is ground; the Orange wire is powered through fuse #7 but is permanent hot. The Yellow wire is powered through fuse #11 and is switched hot when the key is in the ACC or ON positions. Hook up to the Yellow for switched ACC.
I have it installed in the correct fuse spot now, but I still get the beeping. To trouble shoot, I unplugged the sensor into the control box. There still was a long beeping, followed by a short break. This series just continues indefinitely with or without the sensor attached to the control box.

two different issues
I was about to post that I don't believe the power connection is your problem..... I think you have that figured out now.
Your problem is exactly why I haven't tried to mount one of these. I have one from ebay from years ago and just couldn't see how it could tell the difference between a curb 8" away and the ground 5" away....
Not saying they don't work at all,, just saying......
