I knew for a fact that I wanted a z06, so basically all I had to do was choose a color (which I already knew as well. black). It was really easy for me, just had to wait for a good deal with a bit of patience
I looked at a lot of MGBs and TR4-6s and then decided I didn't want to go down that old road again. Last project was a 20 year love-hate affair with a 78 F body that I dumped way to much money and time into. It had to much power and not enough handling, braking. This time I decided to do it different and searched for a low mile clean 2002 Z06.
I just did valve springs and Comp Cams trunnion up grade over the weekend. Fired it up about an hour ago and absolutely runs perfect. Now I have the car I should have got years ago. Still have a soft spot for the old MGBs and early TRs but now have something I can drive anywhere without having to fix it on the side of the road like in the old days.
LOL It's all good. Never met a car I didn't like.
It was a slow long search for me, about 3 months web searching. I knew what I wanted but finding the one that matches your dream was hard. Wanted black exterior, black & tan interior, 6 speed, targa top and stock not modified. The closes I found was everything I wanted minus the tan lower half interior. You just have to keep looking. The C5 was the best corvette as far as performance, power to weight, ability to be a daily driver and weekend racer and looks good doiing it going fast or just sitting there in the sun. The body to me is like a woman laying down, soft curves, nice shape and smooth, just beautiful..
go out and drive one of each of the styles of the C5..each one will offer something different in what they offer...no one can really choose for you..its your pocket book...i really wanted a coupe but loved the looks of the FRC/Z06 cars..in OEM form you cant have both..so i found a great deal on a low mileage 03 Z06 that i bought..i dont regret it for one second.
This is pretty much where I would like to go but I imagine my Wife would want at least a targa top. Do these come with a targa top? And this would be prety much in the price range..
The first decision is body style. I went with the coupe because I wanted to travel with it and the coupe has significantly more luggage space. I then made a list of preferred options and colors and looked for a car that came as close to those criterea as I could get within my budget.

This car is almost identical to mine. No targa on any Z. Ad doesn't state if it has HUD, which I have. My interior is all black. I bought mine in Oct for $24000, and 16K miles. You have to do the comparative math....
Pics of your "B's" please! I had a new one one back in '73. Had a '61 Bugeye Sprite before that. I liked the British cars for years. Still do.
My decision to buy the latest 'vette came one hot summer afternoon when I was tuning on my motorcycle and test riding it. After awhile, I was dripping with sweat and my old worn out knees were hurting from kneeling down tweeking carbs.
I started thinking about the old days and flying around back roads with the top down in those little cars and started looking for one. B's, TR4's, etc. but, remembering the '76 'vette I had made me think that I just haven't really had a hot rod car in my life so, the search changed to another 'vette so I could have a V8 to play with.
Had to have a vert and, with how I hate to be over heated, it had to have a light colored interior so I wouldn't burn my butt every time I got in it. Hence the decision to get the '04 CE vert that's residing in my garage now.
Good luck with whatever you decide on!

Here they are Sonny, thanks for asking..
If I need to I'll sell the GT as well, if I find the right Corvette. Took 7 years of my life that one did..to restore..
Anyone else notice no BSM on any of the cars
They're just a dealer conspiracy to grind a couple more bucks out of you and to cause endless debate among owners

Actually the GT does have chrome side moulding, they all came like that. The roadster, I prefer the look without them and didn't really want to start drilling 20 holes in my brand new fenders. Drill bits have a bad habit of slipping.

Both cars are swwweet. I have a special affinity for the GT however.
I researched my first Corvette for best price (75C3) and loved it.
I bought my second one (84C4) on a whim and paid the price for that foolish move.
I bought my third one (95C4) after doing some research and LOVED that car. By far my favorite.
I bought my C5 on a whim. I like it, I don't love it. I paid too much and I am afraid something will break everytime I drive it.
