Default Texas Speed headers?

My local speed shop has suggested a set of Texas Speed headers for my 2000 Vette.Any pros or cons on these? I was looking at Kooks, but he said he can get met these for about $720.Should i stick with the kOOKS?

I believe they are cheaper ($449.00) than that if you buy them yourself, "texas-speed.com" i like the sound of mine allot however mine look really rusted and I called them on it but they wouldn't warranty anything because they said their coating company only warranties for one year. I can send pics via email, they look horrible

Kooks are good quality, stainless and equal length. The equal length make them more of a pain to install than 90% of other header designs. Cost is $1000 for the headers and $550 for the matching X-pipe

Texas speed is a good quality header and it installs easy. It's ceramic coated mild steel and not stainless. That's were the cost saving is. Last I checked they were on sale for about $680 for the headers w/ x-pipe.

They are both quality headers, same primary size, collector and x-pipe size. The kooks will make 5-7hp more than the Texas Speed Headers because they are true equal length. Stainless will outlast coated ceramic mild but I wouldn't expect the ceramic to start showing wear for 3yrs or so.

If you want the best of both worlds look at the XSPower headers. They use better quality polished stainless than the KOOKS and it's about $750 for the headers w/ x-pipe. A lot of people on this board say install is a breeze, the quality is good and fitment is great.

I'm undecided between getting the coated TSP or the XSPower headers when my time comes to purchase headers. I'm budget hp/$$$ oriented and I'm not going to spend over $1000 for a header/xpipe combo that nets the same HP as a cheaper well built alternative.

I have the texas speed headers. they have been on for right at 2 years now. the car sits outside every day in S Florida. they still look new. once a quarter i put the car on ramps and clean the undercarriage and check for rust etc. so far no worries. I really like that it came with a 3"X pipe. They dropped right in with no problems. If these ever rust out, i would have no problems installing another set if XS Power is not available again.

If you want to give your money to someone in America, buy Kooks or Texas Speed, if you want to give your money to someone in China at the expense of your neighbor's job, buy the "XSpower"

This accusation has been made and answered by Superman09 more than once,,and he has stated that the XSpower headers are made in the good old USA,,namely Georgia. Don't see a problem with that! If my budget gets caught up,,think'n about those myself!

Do you only buy American? I doubt it. You probably have a TV set,a cell phone, cloths, tennis shoes, etc........I'm going to buy me a set of x-power headers next week and I have bought 4 new Toyotas in the last 4 years because they are great cars [daily drivers]. I feel that I'm still pretty much a patriotic American though
