Just purchased 03 with after market z06 wheel. I am a all stock kind of guy. Are the original 03 wheels any good. Did gm offer more than one wheel option for this car. Can you find them used or maybe swap mine out.
First off there is nothing wrong with the original factory wheels. Yes there were a few types of wheels available in '03. The standard wheel was the polished aluminum and the magnesium wheels. The RPO on the polished wheels is QF5 and the magnesium wheel is N73. These will be harder to find as there were only 293 ordered in '03. Also if you happen to have the true anniversary edition they came with a special champagne painted wheel.
I am a stock appearance guy too. The factory wheels for your car are the thin spoke aluminum "millennium" wheels. I think they look fantastic on the C5.
Here is an example.
As far as engine mods, I am definitely not a "stock" guy
Anyway you can get em on ebay or the parts section of this website and sell your z06 wheels after.

The '03 came with painted wheels standard. As an option, you could get the high polished five spoke wheels or the five spoke magnesium wheels. As mentioned above, the Anniversary package came with champagne-painted aluminum wheels.
I had every intention of keeping my car all stock. The only thing that had been added since it left the factory was a recall sticker under the hood. I just couldn't handle not doing something to improve the appearance and I put an exhaust plate in that black hole between the exhaust pipes. It looks so much better to me, just had to put one on it.
From the start I didn't care for the shifter, looks or the way it felt. I couldn't resist it anymore and bought a C6 shifter and ****. I like it so much better. If you turn that C5 shifter upside down it looks like something that use to hang down from the underside of a horse I use to have and don't look much better right side up.
That is the only 2 things I've done and don't have any more plans at the moment but do think some of those decals on the sills might be nice. The car is plenty fast for me so I see no performance mods in my future. But I can't help doing little things to improve the appearance and make something work better. Such as.....

Luke....post on the C5 parts forum you want to trade your wheels for some stock wheels and see what happens.
Watch out for those stock wheels. They seem like to crack. I have a 01 and 04. Both of the cars had cracks in one wheel. Do a seach. You will find some detail. They crack on the inside of the wheel. Ill bet if you stock wheel guys take your wheels off, and clean the inside real good, one of you might find a crack. Mabey Not. I just know when I found out about this, I took the wheels off both cars and Yep, there was cracks in the wheels. Now I have the C6 ZO6 motorsport wheels on both vettes..
I have an o4 vert and my wheels are clean inside and out and never noticed a crack , but I'll make sure and have a real good look in the spring. Thanks . Ron
