Default First underhood adventure

The first rainy day here in a long time and I've been itching to get under the hood of the new ride.

Mostly just to familarize myself with the car, I've had it for a month more or less. As per suggestions that I have read here I pulled the Delco battery and replaced it with a Optimo Red top. I also pulled up the battery support and did a inspection for damage from a previous spil and found none. In fact every where I look on this vehicle I have found very little, dirt, corrosion, or even wear and tear. (more on this below)

I pulled a spark plug and found they have already been replaced with Bosch iridium plug that look perfect, although I only inspected two. I shouldn't have to concern myself with plug replacment for as long as I have the vehicle, it's currently at 28,000 miles.

On that note I'll give a little history of how I got this little gem. I was actively shop in December and found a number of possibilities within 2 hours drive, this being the closest to my dream car. I had been test driving several and decided to see if I could seal the deal on this one.

I must have overlooked the Carfax on this one because when we were trying to hammer out the deal I see that it was sold at auction out of Texas, and come to a reputable Chevy dealer and promptly sits for the next 1 1/2 years collecting ony 150 miles on the odometer. Interesting huh? I really should have walked at that point, but at the end of the 1 1/2 years it comes out as a Chevrolet certified vehicle and is driven regularly for the next 4 years accumulating another 14,000 miles locally and not re-registered under any other names.

The car is as neat as a pin, without the traditional wear spots virtually anywhere, underneath included, even all the tags on the wiring look practially new. With a little research it came out of a flood area (hurricane Rita 2005) I suspect that in the 1 1/2 years someone really did some work on this car. So I took a risk buying the car, the good news is I was able to hammer down the dealer to what I wanted to pay and haven't been disapointed yet.

Sorry for the long post but comments, suggestions?

You will probably have to change your plugs eventually..

Thats the way to do it some times. Just jump in with both feet. Some times it works some times it doesnt but you can miss out on some good deals if you over analyze things.
Congrats on the new car Now get on with it and show us the pictures !!
