Just bought mine last yr. 02' w/ 117K, c6z shocks, sways, end links, c6z rear diff guts but mostly stk w/ CAI and stinger exh. Ran like a banshee for a stock car and couldn't believe the low and mid range torque. Since then I did valvesprings, cam, lt's, x-pipe and ported tb and w/ no tune just shy of 400rwhp/376rwtq. Once tuned it'll be good to go.

I too own an fbody w/ close to 750rwhp and it's fun when running but I love the way this car handles and brakes. Couldn't afford a c6z and even if I could I wouldn't get one. I'd do a LS7 swap before that and have the best of both worlds.

 

I am also in the group that was looking for a C-6 for my first Vette. upon being able to compare same photos I liked the C5 Z much better. I have never regreted my decision.

 

I have had mine for 3 1/2 years and 40k miles. Only had to replace the tires . I keep it pretty clean but must admit I feel guilty for not lavishing the attention on it it deserves. It never seems to care. I go out, turn the key, and away I go. Every time. I find myself looking for stuff to replace just for the heck of it. Did exhaust/ cold air. Last time it was brakes. Maybe suspension next. Hmmm.

Love how it is instantly identifiable as a corvette, and yet at the same time people immediately know it's something special and not a 'normal' corvette. Even after all these years.

 

Each time u drive, it puts a smile on your face ....when I pull up to the church I have hard time keeping adults off the car not only kids .....they be like " how much HP does it have or can u rev it up...." I think I'm gonna start charging people ...lol... It's an awsome car that's all I can say .
