If it hasn't already been done to the car, expect to replace the water pump, spark plugs, maybe a belt and possibly the clutch if it's original. As someone has already said, to me, it really depends on what you're going to do with the car and what kind of life the car has had so far.

At some point milage on C5Zs is going to be a none issue, like planes and boats, a Z can be brought back to life and then some. And I don't think you are going to find anything that can give the driving pleasure, be trouble free, and return reasonable fuel economy than a used C5Z can.
Oh: and some times its better to buy the beater, fix it, then you know just what you have. Don't worry about the clock, just dive.
