Would you buy a clean C5Z with 110k for $16k or is it better to spend a few more thousand dollars for a lower milage one?
I would find one with around 50-60k for just a few more bucks. That's just what I would do though. Then again depending on the car the 110k car might be in better shape then the 50-60k. All depends on the car and owner/maintenance.
I wouldn't buy anything that had 110K mi, unless it looked like it was very well kept and the seller had complete maintenance records from day one.(records that showed no serious issues, of course)
Bought mine with 115k for $15k a year ago today. That fact that you're asking people what they think about it means you are hesitant, which means you probably shouldn't buy it. You'll always be wishing you waited a little longer and bought a lower mileage one. Mileage to me is a pointless number. A car can be driven hard for 20k miles and be worse off than a car that's been babied for a 100k miles. But, that's a hypothetical example.
Depends...track car, weekend car, DD? If it's sole purpose is a track car; buy it, beat on it, and rebuild it to what you want when it fails. If it's a DD, get one with less miles. If it's a weekend toy that doesn't see a lot of mileage, I could go either way on that...but I'd still try to get one with less mileage.
Main reason I am asking is because I want to know will these cars start to fall apart after 100k miles.
I had a lexus gs400 that I bought with 80k miles. When I sold it, the car had over 200k and still runs like new.
I still have a nissan altima for daily driver with 220,000 miles. No leaks,no smoke, etc. Runs like new still and has not had any major work done. I have never owned a gm product with that many miles. Now I do know someone who owns a 99 vette with over 100,000 and no problems. I bought my 02 Z with 8200 miles two years ago and have put 10,000 on it so far with no issues. They seem like a solid built car.

I personally didnt want one with that many miles when I bought mine recently, but of course higher mileage drops the price pretty signifigantly. I got mine with 36k for $23k. If $16k or so is the most you have to spend than I'd say go for it. If you can afford more I would try and find one with less miles. Not sure how mileage isn't an issue to anyone. Its just a fact that more issues are going to come up the higher mileage the car is. A replacement motor is $6-7k or more, rebuilt tranny or rear could each run into the thousands. Just things to keep in mind buying a higher mileage car.
I stole my 03 Z06 with 113k on it for $12,000 out the door from the dealership i work at. The only major thing that went out on me was the transmission went out (No reverse, would jump out of 6th). Got a awesome street/strip trans built for it from FLT and replaced the clutch, rear main, etc.. Besides from replacing some oil pan gaskets and power steering rack and other maint items, the cars been bulletproof and i beat the hell out of it. But then again I'm a tech, and do all the work myself, and didn't have to pay labor to do all the above

Sounds like a pretty good deal, but how much did the items that you had to replace set you back?
2k for the trans( I knew some people to get that deal) then upgraded to a C6Z clutch/flywheel ( like 500), used pwr steering rack (150), then i'd say couple hundred in gaskets, seals, fluids, motor mounts etc....Thing is competely dry underneath with a new trans and clutch plus price of car for like 15K
I bought my 01 Z with 120k Miles for 11k....Since I have bought it the only thing I have done is change the oil....There is absolutely no oil under the car no clunks or clanks, shifts smooth, clutch grabs good, paint looks like its 30k mile car. It actually is in better condition then my 99 FRC was with 60k Miles. I would not be afraid to buy a higher mileage z06 aslong as the owner took care of it. Good luck
I have 5 GM vehicles, 4 with over 120k miles on them. An '85 Fiero with over 230k. A '95 1 ton dually with 125k on it. A '00 Grand Prix GTP with 210k on it and an '03 Tahoe with 160k on it. All of the issues I've had with my vehicles have been minor and generally my fault. My C5Z is the only one with low mileage, and I'm not concerned at all about driving the hell out of it for another 200k! Just take care of the scheduled maintenance and it will take care if you.
Ill give you my Black Z06 with 25K miles for 23K ... But in all seriousness I would personally wouldnt buy a car over 60K miles unless it was really clean and taken care of... But thats just me...
The C5s are well built and have a design life of 200K miles (according to several articles I've read). Bought mine almost 2 years ago with 93K and needing a little TLC. Fixed a few minor things myself for a few hundred dollars and the car has been great. Over 20K miles later with no problems.
If the car is/has what you want then I would say go for it!
Good luck and let us know what you decide.
