My C-5 had one on it when I bought it...I really like it however, I don't know if I'd have cut loose of the bucks.
OK what the hell is going on here....I've tried to ad a pic on several different times but can't get it done....It says on a message board that "you may not add attachments".....what's that BS about??? I'd like an administrative answer on that one...another member said to use the yellow envelope but that doesn't open up any places to add a pic...
I really like this forum and I've posted pics, hell, i've even bought my last C-5 via this site but all of a sudden, I'm blocked...WTF????

Don't add pictures as attachments.
Upload pictures to a picture server like Photobucket.com then grab the link of the picture and add it to you post. Easy copy and paste.

You can do it for around 12 dollars with a couple cans of plasti-dip. I know you don't want to paint but this stuff peels right off when ever you want to remove it.

OK thanks for that info, I'll sit on the sidelines and see what the GP will be.

the plasti-dip should only take 1 can... and like they said, if you dont like it, peel it off.

Use Plasti-Dip. Its only about $5-6 a can and you can pull it off whenever you're sick of the look (which you'll never get sick of).

Was originally going to do the vinyl version, but they stopped making it a while back. No insult to the guys making / selling the plastic tape-on version, but that's just not going to fly in my book. I'm going to be plasti-dip'in mine shortly, and I have to agree that unless you're planning on having it permanently painted, there's really no reason to not plasti-dip it.

I picked up the last can on the shelf at HD yesterday
Im guessing when you taped off the 'lip' area how good did the edge match to the actual molded 'lip' on the fascia?
I was thinking of running it up on my ramps so i could have a better angle(more level to my eyes)
Thanks for any tips from anyone that would like to respond

A friend did mine, paid him $60.. he took 2 hours taping it up. lesson learned; i would would spray away from the edges first, then spray the taped area and pull it off quickly before it has a chance to harden... otherwise you'll be going around the edges with an exacto knife getting the tape off.

woah. Did you let that dry completely before removing the masking tape? If so, how did you manage that? I tried that on the first attempt and the dip came up with the tape, had to redo it and move quick while it was wet.

Painting the lower fascia I feel is the best way to go. I painted mine and used a bit of shelf liner to give it the carbon fiber look if you get up close to it.

yeah it dried a little more than it "should" have... a little care with an exacto knife it came off pretty well.

OK thanks for the tip, but it seems one needs a good eye taping around that lip so thats going to be the toughest part making it straight along that raised area so I'll just take extra care.
BTW your friend did a very nice job prepping and finishing yours

melvingregory, a lot of people feel this way and I'd most of us who have used Plasti-Dip share the same opinion. But we're also in a group who don't want to do any permanent paint mods to our cars. I'd also go out on a limb and say a good number of dipped fans would have a few things painted afterward, but only because they were able to see before hand whether they would like it.
