Finally Got One! Quick Intro, First Impressions...
Car Info:
1999 C5 Navy Blue Metallic
6-Spd
Grey/Black Interior
Stock aside from Short Throw/Intake
49,XXX on the clock.
No pics as of now b/c I've already started modding it to my taste, and thus I'm having the BSM's removed and doors painted. Its always been my dream to own a vette, and I wanted to do it relatively young, so I'm quite pleased that I found this car.
First Impressions:
Fun car to drive, get alot of looks/compliments, but I'm a little "afraid" of pushing the car hard. The electrical gremlins with these cars scare me along with the problems associated with wheel hop damage. I just feel like I almost have to baby it lol.
Overall, great engine/trans, but cheap interior; I guess thats GM for you
lol. Having owned a 2000 WS6 I knew of the interior quality, but its all good, I didn't buy the car for comfort
. Future Plans:
Reverse spilt cam, full exhaust, some suspension upgrades, and new wheels. Basically looking to have a 400rwhp, high 11 sec car.

On a side note, I'd just like to say that I've already been helped by a few forum members. I must say that this is one of the more helpful/friendly internet car forums.

Looking forward to the mods!
Question: Reverse split cam? Why this profile? Have you used it before on the CYS-V or WS6?
Thanks,Matt

The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts
Since most of your racing is done under the curve, its more beneficial IMO to have more power here, v.s. at the very top of my rpm range. Turning a better time with a 396rwhp car vs a 411rwhp car is more important to me instead of having that BIG peak number
Now, if you have a FAST Intake, LS6 Heads, or ported/aftermakret heads, a traditional cam will prob be more effective since exhaust/intake are pretty much on par.
Well, I have a 99 so I still have the plastic tie-rod end links. I'll also be upgrading to the c6z51 sway bars front/rear. I've also lowered it on stock bolts so I'll be replacing the shocks with Bilsteing Sports, or if I can find a good deal on used coilovers I'll do that.

Looking into doing coilovers next after riding in a c5z running Pfadts.
The base suspension sucks BAD. The Z51 suspension is better, but there is still a lot of room for improvement.
Then again, I usually run Corvettes that have twice the stock horsepower, and push my C5s more so than 90% of the guys on here.
