After seeing a Wicked99's FRC Targa conversion it made me think of an old c5 i saw a long time ago. It was a Black Corvette Hard Top Convertible. This is not the one i saw, but i was wondering how many are out there and where they had this done?
Also if you have any more photos of others please share!
I haven't seen any C-5 hardtop convertibles, but this past summer there was a C6 at a local car show. I talked to the owner and according to him it was a special delivery from the factory. I knew better than that but didn't want to start a confrontation there to show so I didn't say anything. I did do some research and found that there's a company in California that does the conversion quite expensive. Also adds a lot of weight so you defeating the purpose of Avenue sports car this designed to handle by adding all that weight to the top pleasure lose all that luggage space in the trunk.
here's a shot at C6.

Im sure the C5 Z06 rims were also a special delivery from the factory :p
I must say tho, if you know people in a factory u can pull some ****. My friends dad knows a guy at the CTS plant. He had them build him a 2009 CTS-V (4door) with 2010 CTS-V interior.
I had one on my 2004. Hated it. It never sat right, the mounting points cracked and had to be reinforced, and the back window is the same (small) size as the convertible window.
If I had it to do over again, I'd find a Caravaggio. I've seen a couple and the fit and finish is WAY better, the mounting system is better, and they used the Z06 rear glass which has great visibility and looks awesome.
The carvaggio rear glass is similar to the Z06, but not the same glass. I hope Mr. Caravaggio doesn't mind me saying, but that's why they no longer produce the hardtop, the glass company that made the glass for the tops went bankrupt and took the moulds with them. Its a very nice top, very few squeeks, barely any wind noise and it only weighs 31#. I don't know if its just how I installed the rear brackets, or if they are all that way (I bought mine used and didn't get any instructions) but they seem like they have to be removed to put the soft top up, they keep the plastic trim covers from opening all the way as you lift the soft top. Other than that, I have no complaints at all about it.
