Which short shifter would you guys recommend for daily driving? I want to be able to use the stock shift **** and keep it looking stock.

I've got the MGW with a stock C5 **** on it (for now). Love the shifter, but I am switching to the MGW Gripper ****.

I'd suggest the C6 shifter and ****. It's 10x better than the C5 and it looks stock. I love mine

I have the MGW and it shifts nice. I use a Hurst ball, its plastic and dosn't get too hot or too cold. My shifter does rattle sometimes but I seem to be the only one with that problem and it seems to do it less the longer I have it. Easy install.

I have had the B&M short shifter, C6 shifter, RSD snap short shifter and now the MGW. Now much difference between B&M and MGW. I had to get the longer handle for MGW as it was too much effort for dd, but OK for track. Just notice the difference between the angles of the C6 style shifters on left vs the C5 styles on right. Elbow kept hitting race seat with C6 styles. GLWS.

I have the MGW, it shifts ok but a tad bit notchy but I don't mind. I think it's more the tranny than the shifter. I have a top flight reproductions **** on it I just put on. I did have the stock **** on it and it looked good but it didn't feel right.

Two of my friends have done these and are very happy with the performance for DD's -
(1) did a Hurst Short Shifter
(1) did B&M

Thanks,Matt

I had the MGW and it's very notchy. But maybe you'll like it.
I went to the C6 and never looked back.

I cut 3/4 of an inch off the stock shaft and then used a thread die to add some additional threads and put the **** back on. Much shorter and in a more comfortable position for my hand now. Eventually, I added a eight ball style **** for more comfort also.

I have the TPS C6 Z06 style - short, low-effort throw and quiet.

I cut almost an inch off my OE shifter and did NOT cut new threads. Much improved and only an hour so invested.

Good luck

A whatever non-GM shifter or **** you go for do yourself a favor and do the anti-venom mod at the same time. It consists of putting a washer under the shifter dent plunger so that the shifter linkage is easier to move in and out of gear. It makes living day to day with a performance shifter much better.

I really like my C6 shifter over the stock C5. I'm a weekend or fair weather driver and don't drive the vette every day.

Other than a shorter throw, what difference is there? The C6 is bent, what does that cause? Good and Bad.

Does the C5 **** fit on the C6 shifter?

The C5 **** does not fit the C6 shifter.
I have the C6 **** on the C6 shifter. To me it feels and looks better and it seems to shift better. It may just my imagination but I do like it better than the stock C5 shifter and ****.
