The solid top is quieter, cooler and heavier! I like the lexan one better.

Do you know the difference in weight between the lexan top and the solid top? Thanks

I assume that the solid fiberglass top has some sort of insulation behind the headliner to keep it quieter. The OP can probably apply some insulation, then a headliner, to help keep the interior cooler and quieter if this is his only top.

I never use my glass top. Here in Texas it just gets too hot. I figure if I want the sun beating down on my balding head I'll just take the top off. Besides, I think the painted top looks better on my car.

And lets an amazing amount of light in. I don't have a glass top yet, but had one on my C4. With the tinted windows to match the top, it was perfect. I can't wait to get a glass top for this one.

I just got a painted top for my 03 and I love it. Changes the look of the car and is quieter and cooler inside. Now I've got to decide whether or not to sell the lexan one.

I have both tops and use both when I want to. Weight diff is minimal as far as I can tell.

The solid colored roof came as stock. For $750 you could have the transparent roof panel only. For $1,200 you could have both.

the solid top is a little heavier, but the difference seems minimal.

The solid top is definitely quieter, thicker material and a thick interior lining blocks ambient noise much better than the transparent roof.

I have both but rarely use the transparent top.

Anybody that wants to sell their clear top let me know, I'm wanting one.

Lucky enough that I have both. Like most, clear in the cooler months and colored in the warmer months.
