Will she be sitting in the middle? Is anyone in the passenger seat? Short or tight skirts can cause for some interesting parade "shots" so warn her of that...or not your choice. Agree with the rubber mat and check her outfit for rhinestones or anything else that can scratch anything on the way in and out.
I used the Viper in more than one parade and the rhinestone issues I learned the hard way
I went to WalMart and purchased a red throw for the young ladies to sit on and I also place a towel on the console for them to rest their feet(shoes)on. If they have a poster to put on the side of the car, I use painter's tape or body shop tape on the back of the posters.
Take a folding chair, as you will probably be doing a lot of sitting around and waiting before the parade begins.
Take a cooler with water and snacks as you may be there longer than you were told.
Take a towel for your passenger to sit on.
Tell her to remove her shoes before she gets into your car.
I have done this a few times and have found the participants to be cooperative.
Have fun. Oh yeah, bring your camera.
If she's going to be standing on the seat, wrap a piece of plywood with a blanket and let her stand on that, her little feet concentrating her weight on one spot will defintely screw up the seat, especially if she starts hopping up and down!
And as others have said, watch the jewelry!
Have fun!
I would test the car to make sure it doesn't overheat. Your car may not be used to stop and go traffic for extended periods of time like a parade. You could have a fan out right now and not even know it. Check your fans and look up in front of the condensor and make sure everything looks clean. Maybe do some test idling just to make sure, you certainly don't want to overheat and ruin your day!!
Also watch what you roll over, have seen many C5s suck up streamers on parade routes..

Som great advice that I never would have thought of.

RUN YOUR AC regardless. It will keep the fans running and avoid (or at least delay) getting to the 235* mark.
What should I know about hauling a beauty queen in my C5
I've seen photos somewhere of a length of large soft rope tied to the passenger hand hold or looped under the seat for the girl to hold onto just in case there is an accidental acceleration which would cause her to loose her balance and fall backward. Something to consider.
