The reality is that we will accept our fate and pay the going rate. Kind of like what we do as Vette owners. You want the fancy "splash guards" that fit perfect and look good? You pay $450. Do you get a good product? I'm sure. Did it cost alot? Natch, it's for a Vette. Would you fill your Vette with Sheetz gas or roll along and pay a little more for Sunoco.
We have trained ourselves to accept the day and move along. I guess that's not a bad way to be. I wish I could be that way.
I have to drive cross country in May. It'll probably $5 by then.
Oh well, it's still cheaper than an airline ticket and I get to spend quality time with the vette!
I'm doing the same in april! LUCKILY the airforce will payback most of the money spent on gas! SWEET!
Sounds like alot of you guys get your info from O'reilly's talking point memo. Politicians, who are funded by big oil, have no interest in helping us. Here's what everyone can expect to see in the next 5-10 years...........alot more smart cars and moped/scooters just like you see in the European nations right now. Complain all you want but HIGHER gas prices are inevitable.
in addition to all the a fore mentioned reasons prices are up... due to the decreased demand here in the USA, they are making less gas domestically... and exporting the refined product.
Do you think that voting out the current crop of politicos will solve the problem? I seem to remember in the GOP years of the last administration, we went through the same exhorbitant costs for fuel. What we need is the government to put tighter controls on the speculators that are screwing us royally. I don't see any politician in or out of office who has the guts to deal with the sob's. Oh, you say that's free enterprise?? I call it theft.
Getting rid of obama would be a start. He is more interested in alternate fuels than fixing the current problem. Lets drill our own oil first, and then when we can afford too, we can develop alternate fuels. There are too many Americans that cant afford to buy a new car that runs on something beside gasoline. We need affordable gasoline NOW or we will be in the same boat again and the economy will go in the crapper...AGAIN

So in the late 70's gas crisis, we got rid of that crop of politicos. Did it solve the problem permanently? Obviously not. I lived in Corpus Christi TX in the early 80's (NAS) and when the oil industry tanked, Corpus Christi's work force went into the dumper and so did its economy. So fast forward and we've lived through several gas crunches with GOP's with no real resolution. Right now, we should be sitting pretty since my son and with the Marines finished with Iraq. Weren't we supposed to get paid back with Iraqi oil? Oops, another political mis-step. And then we get change. Whether you like Obama or not, I just don't see where getting rid of him should be the first thing we do to decrease fuel prices. Frankly, I don't think that it will make a bit of difference. As consumers, we are over the barrel. The only folks happy will be that fellow who owns the refinery.
Keep voting demonrat and gas will become unavailable ay any price!
I voted Republican and I voted Democrat; on different occasions, of course. I vote for the best candidate not his affiliation. Best qualified has always been my choice; of course, my decision wasn't always the right one. Back in the day, I worked hard for Goldwater; I voted for Nixon; I voted for Reagan; I voted for Bush; I voted for Clinton; I voted for Bush; I wanted to vote for McCain until Palin came into the picture.
