I have the Hyperwhite headlights from WCC corvette as my replacements for my low-beam and high-beam headlights. Well, it looks like I now have one of my low-beams out so my car is a cyclops for the time being. I went on the WCC corvette website for a replacement (where I originally bought them) and it doesn't look like they carry them anymore. I found one vendor that carries them, but the cheapest shipping option is literally half the price of the damn lights. I'll probably be going back to my stock halogens at least for now, (which I found this afternoon), but does anyone have any recommendations for a good replacement bulb to the stock halogens? I don't want to go HID as these are technically not street legal, but wondering if there is anything else out there similar to the hyperwhites that would be a good replacement.
I know I can't post other sites, but does that count when it's not a link?
Anywho, I've been reading up on replacement H4 bulbs as I don't want to get HID's for stock housings. What I found was Philips X-treme Power (which is a +80 bulb) was one of the top performers for a couple years. Since then Philips has released the X-Treme Vision (which is a +100 bulb) that's been said to perform a little better than the XP but with a slightly shorter life expectancy.
I'm not sure about the Hyperwhite bulb you're referring to, but if it happens to be tinted blue with claims to out perform other bulbs, I'm sorry to tell you but the tint is actually robbing it's performance. Either Philips bulbs I've mentioned will actually have an extremely bright white appearance, with no gimmicky tint or wanna be HID look.
You can snag the XP's from amazon for a pretty good price but unfortunately they don't have the new XV's. Power bulbs . com has the newest set but the price is a bit more. Hope this helps.
