I love it when jealously pops up....sort of like a "turtlehead". I had a situation when getting my state inspection. The young inspector told his boss that the only real corvettes out there had an LS7 and all the rest were cheap knock-offs. I looked at him and laughed. I've grown to expect such remarks from owners of riced out Neons.
Does this **** anyone else off?
You get those haters that say how common corvettes are. and everyone has one.
I dont necessarily think they are common, but most you see (around here at least) are just stock and all look the same.
When I read your title, I could only think of..."opinions are like a$$holes, everyone has one." I live 10 miles from Carlisle and the only time that I see a lot of Corvettes is during the last weekend in AUGUST.
Not on my commute - I maybe see another vette, any year, about once every 2 weeks...
although i don't use mine as a daily driver, i am very aware of spotting them (or their absence) during my daily commute. i certainly don't see that many on the roads and i live in an area where you would expect to see at least a couple almost every day. my daily driver is a carrera convertible and i see more of them daily than i do corvettes. i guess the OP lives in a more corvette conscious area than i do.

either not really a car guy or gal, or someone who decided it was an appropriate purchase for his mid-life crisis and his wife won't admit he had one. perhaps she is lucky he bought the car and sold it rather than getting a replacement for her during that time, lol. seems to me that jealousy is sad trait.
When I posted on Lightning Rodders that I sold my Lightning and got a Corvette.. someone responded "Everyone has a vette" ... I reminded him that F150s are the most selling and common automobile ever... he digressed
Doesn't bother me at all. Sounds like someone who is jealous of those that do own a Corvette. Besides, if everyone owned one, it would just show they have good taste.
Once again I find myself in complete agreement with the "Vetteman", I would like to believe that brilliant minds work alike but its probably just because we both Senior Citizens.
Jealousy and ignorance cover most of those trying to take "cheap shots". Why else would anyone spend $35k+ on a hot new Camaro or Mustang when they could buy a clean used Corvette and have enough left over for two or three great road trips.
I bought the car for my enjoyment, so I don't get upset if someone is jealous. Most people are openly jealous, those who are passive about it I could care less about.
Everyone has a mustang I'd say is true, I see them everywhere. Not so many corvettes on the road around here. I almost never see another c5z on the road around here, more base c5's and c6's.
I hear a lot from people whenever I add or change something on my car. They like to lecture me on about what they would have done different or what they don't like on my car. Or give me s*** because it has a little dirt on it. It's my daily driver!! Then those same people get in their beat up honda civics.
I think what people are trying to convey when they say this is when compared to other true two seat sports cars, Corvettes are seen more often.
And from a price standpoint, it also makes sense. I don't think there is another true sports car that comes close to the Corvette in price, or value for that matter.
