Im sure someone here (or in the audio section) who knows what they are talking about will chime in, but until then.
There is an amplifier on the right (pass) side of the console under the bezel and carpet and I believe the door speakers also have amplifiers integrated into them.

The "subs" in the doors have their own small amplifier (25W RMS?) attached to the speaker mount. The 3.5'' twiddlers, and the ones in the rear are run off the head unit. There's a sound processor thing under the dash, but I don't think it actually amplifies the sound.

Its worth filling out your profile or you will not get information specific to your car. I'll guess that you have a coupe as the vert and the FRC are slightly different.

There are six speakers in four locations, two amplifiers in the forward speaker locations, and an amplifier incorporated into the Bose signal processor. The processor is behind the kick panel at the drivers knee (called the IP left lower insulator panel).
