Default Manual shift boot retainer info.

Has anyone tried the metal boot retainer that's being sold on the auction site.
I'm wondering how the adhesive works out, Leather to the Metal retainer ring. Thanks for any input.

1. Yes
2. I have no idea what you're talking about. There is no "leather to the metal" gluing involved. The only gluing is the leather to itself.
3. It works great. Highly recommend.

Wow, those things are pricey. The PO broke my plastic one and I repaired it. But it's too late now, you are already buying this one.

The cost of this one is nothing compared to the cost of a new GM piece which now, is no longer available. Even when it was available, it was wholesaling in the $70-80 range and had to be purchased as part of the shift-boot assembly. Then there's the fact that this stainless steel unit will last the life of your car.

Its a very good alternative to trying to find one used and this one won't break like the plastic one that is stock.
