Default Sunvisor removel question

I have seen the posts on how to do it but my question is was it tough to undo the bezel. With some effort I tried but it wouldn't break loose. The screw driver was starting to bend a bit so I stopped trying. It is a shale color so it would be hard to replace if I broke it. Has anyone tried to do this and what happened or suggestions would be appreciated. Also does anyone know of someone selling these if i do break it...the visors are a mess.

There was an earlier post with a diagram that I used. Your screwdriver should not be bending. Basically, you stick the flatblade into the edge and then twist the visor arm with the screwdriver engaged and the bezel should pop loose.

GM, check with Gene Cully

The purpose of the screwdriver blade is to hold the locking bezel in place as the visor is rotated towards the outside of the vehicle thus unlocking the attach point. It doesn't take much force, if you have any resistance try applying upwards pressure or downwards pressure at the attachment point while rotating the visor towards the outside.

Maybe there's a video on U-tube on how to do this. Picture worth a thousand words?

Here are instructions from vette mods. I had a little bit of trouble re-installing the visors, just takes patience. I also found it easier to get the wires out by popping the larger plastic ring out. Hope this helps.

My experience is that it took more force than I expected and like you, I was concerned that the bezel, being plastic, was going to break .............but I followed the instructions and the bezels didn't crack.

Once I removed the visors, I liked the look so much I didn't fit the new ones!!
